We gotta create our own high class national attire. It's important to have national materials to link ones Somalinimo with. The macawiis is just too low class for carrying such a prestige.

The Norwegians got the bunad that are all hand sown in Norway and they cost several thousand dollars

There's also the Marius shirt that's distinctly Norwegian

Arabs got the Arab thingy

With the royals having this

This is distinctly Arab and everybody knows it .

Think of German clothing. Think of Pakistani clothing. And so on you get the point.


Then think about Somali clothing. White shirt? Macawiis? Khamis? They're all either too generic/simple, low class or not distinctly Somali.

So the question is what would you base the new national outfit on?

I do not know the name of this attire. but we clearly had a distinct form of cultural clothing.
