The SS Handzar Division was created on Bosniak request because the partisans (communist guerilla) and the ustashe (croatian collaborationists) didnt do enough to protect Bosniak civil population (especially in eastern Bosnia) from chetnik (serbian royalist militia) atrocities.

Bosnians , Albanians and several North Africans/ Arabs and Indians recruits were under the third reich command some were even under the ranks of the SS , they mostly perished at the battle of Normandy, North African campaign , the Italian war.
Yes they aren't heard of in today's history , actually many people do not want to display these sorts of things as it would damage their reputations , despite the Nazis percieving non Aryan whites as "Untermenschen" subhumans they had common values against the Jews , the generic ideologies of the Europeans they heavily despised hence they had their interests in them but it doesn't mean it was permanent nor were they truly allies , if the roles of victories were reversed and the western hemisphere had fallen to them and their Jewish bogeyman erased from the earth , I believe blacks , browns and Muslims would also fit in that particular category of a justified ethnic cleansing , millions would had suffer in concentration camps.
So let's not praise them, the aftermath would have been unfortunate , despite history being re-written by the victorious and definitely in their favour.
