Some ethno-nationalists who have never stepped foot back home, are making threads on not naming your kids after "Arabs". My brother in Somalinimo, these names such as Abu Bakar, Khalid, Ali, Yusuf, & others are named after some of the best people to walk the face of the earth. If you want to name your child after a Somali name, go for it. If it's after the Prophets, Angels, & Sahaba (which most Somalis pick) go for it.

These people only exist in the internet, I wouldn't think too much about it. Mostly secular hooyo mataalo kids who want to replace modern-day somali culture (that is supposedly too arab) with an already dead culture of the jahiliyyah like waaqism. For them islamization=arabization
