Interesting choice.

Most of mideeya members are also CS.

It seems PL local election in 2021 will be hard to choice. Between Kaah, Mideeya and last Mustaqabal.

Everyone has a past. He was young but always showed leadership qualities. He was running Bosaso Port as a 22 year old, ran Golis as an CEO, became a very good education minister. He has deep network. Ali Haji is a draw.

TEN PUNTLAND POLITICAL ASSOCIATIONS TO CONTEST 2021 LOCAL ELECTIONS

Garowe (PP News Desk) — The Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission publicised today the number of political associations that will contest the 2021 pilot local elections in Puntland.

“Four political associations have merged. Two political associations have failed to meet the criteria for becoming a political association codified in the Political Associations Act of Puntland. After assessing applications submitted political associations the Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission resolved to publicise the names of ten political associations that met the criteria to become a political association” reads the TPEC statement.

TPEC Statement: Ten political associations have met the criteria to contest 2021 local elections in Puntland.

Yes, the right kind of elections. Puntland is taking its time not to go from one tribal system to another tribal voting system.

1. Are the next elections to elect a new president, parliament or both?
2. When will they be held?
3. Will it be a selection process or 1 man 1 vote type election?

1- Next election will be hold on Oct of 2021 for Local elections and announcement for Three parties to participate for President and parliament elections.
2- The new TPEC will announce it.
3- Yes, the election will be 1M1V.

1. The upcoming elections in 2021 are for the local elections of our 50 or so districts. The elections for presidency and parliament is in 2023
2. Local elections in October 2021, presidential and parliament elections in 2023
3. It's 1man1vote.

Wait a minute. So the three biggest parties in the local elections will be eligible to run for presidential and parliamentary elections? That is absolutely terrible walahi

Imagine in City A, one party wins, but they're not among ghe largest three parties overall. That party does great job in the city council, but are barred from participating in general elections because they're not among the top three. The two years between local and presidential should be a period to see a whether the party you voted for did a good job. If they did, you can reward them by voting for them, if did a terrible job, you can punish them by voting for someone else

By eliminating the seven other parties, we are headed towards the failed SL system wherein three parties have a monopoly on the voting system.
