Old map of Africa

Here is a 1554 map of africa. You'll notice there are many places with the word regnum on the map. For example most somali areas are part of an area called regnum de seylum, whereas a little bit of south somalia is called the azania region which is part of an area that includes ethiopia called regnum melinde. When I searched what this meant on google translate it was translated as kingdom of seylum and kingdom of melinde so any area with the name regnum is a kingdom. This may be obvious as there is a crown depicted on areas that say regnum.

Any thoughts on this map in general.

Ethiopia controlled xamar?
To be honest I need to do more research, but I don't think that ethiopia controlled that area as you have to take into account the main rulers of ethiopia in the past and today are habeshas, and they were probably part of regnum habelith as most of their territory is roughly from that area, and if true I'm assuming they probably didn't expand yet as the area that includes xamar and modern ethiopia is part of regnum melinde which is a different kingdom.

You also have to take into account that other african countries are included in regnum melinde, which makes it harder to know who controlled that area unless there is concrete evidence shown from credible sources.

For anyone who has read any of my posts, feel free to correct or educate me on anything wrong I said as I haven't really done enough research, so I made some assumptions that could be wrong.

For anyone wondering why there is a giant cyclops depicted on the map, I saw a video that said when explorers went to that area of the map they likely saw a giant elephant skull and assumed that cyclops lived in that area of Africa.

I'll post the link below:

you'll also notice the term Aethiopia (meaning land of the burnt faced people) was used to describe some central and west african countries instead of modern day ethiopia which was called something else.
