Look at a sattelite map of Galkacyo, you won't be able to identify this so called airport because it has no runways and it calls itself an "international airport", but you will easily find identify Abdullahi Yusuf Airport which doesn't even call itself that.

These are the only international airports in Somalia. Anything else is a tuulo airstrip

I know, so does baledogle and kismaayo but they function as airstrips because their runways are damaged and have a lot of potholes.

Nice video. Yes it was damaged by the war but it is still better than many large regions in the north that don't have paved airstrip .

Before the civil war the only paved airports were
Kismayo
Mogadishu
baledogle
baidoa
galkayo
berbera
hargeisa

Only the ones in bold had jet flights. The rest could only take khat flights and small aircraft.

Oh yeah, how could I forget berbera. It has one of the longest runways in the world over 4km. Burco only has an airstrip

The Chinese will pay some of it themselves. They are giving us a massive discount. Also land is free, and the ground does not need much engineering.
