Our horrible diet is destroying our looks.

Somalis in the 1800s drank gallons of raw camel milk, and only ate meat. They did not eat grains whatsoever. Pasta and Rice where introduced to us by the Italian colonizers. Nowadays Somali parent forcefeed their kid ricebowls and pasta which will fucking destroy your face as it' malnutrition since grain have 0 nutrients.

You will not find a Somali that looks like them now. Every single one of them has a well developed face, strong browridge, jaw structure. I believe grainsludge is destroying us as Somali men. We need to leave Europe/West move to a country that has high vitamin D sunlight, Eat more meat/organs and milk. Or we will stay cooked.

I agree bro. I recently spent a month in Somalia and when I was there I was drinking camel milk eating mostly camel meat and eating a lot of soor.

After I came back everyone said I looked 10x better then I did when I was in the UK. They said I lost weight, became slimmer, more muscle mass, skin became clearer and glowing, hair became thicker and healthier and just in general way better looking.

And also take into consideration I didn't maximise the benefits as I did eat fasts foods quite a few times out there. Imagine I stick to a diet of just camel meat, camel milk and fresh fruits and vegetables I would have seen immense benefit.

You have to also take into consideration our forefathers and the Somalis back home, especially in Baadiyo used to eat fresh food. None of their food was processed like ours is in this day and age. We eat processed meat veg and rice etc..

I've seen so many "theories" as to why we look so different now vs in the past and I constantly wonder whether we look the same and just look at older photos videos with a better perspective

Like, I'll see multiple somalis with the same bone structure as the guys in these pictures daily traveling around london, but I'll also see significantly more that have weak bone structures, particularly the teeth I've noticed. Could it be a thing where we just have high variance when it comes to "facial definition"?

Somalis have a fragile phenotype. When we have proper nutrition and development we look very good. But if we have malnutrition we tend to look worse than other races.
Even in the west, we are have malnutrition. We rely on processed food a lot, and when we cook somali food, we use oil like it's water. When we stick to natural ingredients from the soil like our nomadic ancestors, we look beautiful. It's why Somali models look gorgeous

It's just fat. Lots of guys have facial fat that cover their facial structure. When I was overweight, by naturally high cheek bones and well define jawline was hidden by the fat. Older Somalis in the west are usually overweight or obese and that can sometimes translate to their children.

Na I can tell the difference between when someone has a less defined face and when someone has fat covering their bone structure, there's hella Somalis who's facial structure just isn't defined. But then there are also loads of us who have the high cheekbones and prominent jaws that are seen in these photos. I truly believe we just have a large amount of bone structure variance naturally

I think Somalis look fine tbh, my actual question is what evidence do we have that we really looked so "different" in the past? These Photos could've just been the guys the photographer liked the most

If looks matter so much to you, why don’t you get some surgery instead of projecting your insecurities onto us, go test your testosterone levels because no straight man is this concerned about looks that’s what you always talk about.

Rice was being transported to Harar from Zeila in 1895. It was being eaten in Muqdisho in the 16th century when Ibn Batuta visited. The Somali name for rice “Bariis” similar to Persian etc suggests a far longer consumption period than Italian colonialism. The taste and spices used in Rice are local infused with Yemeni/Indo influence.

Somali pastoralists also consumed Grains in the past. They also consumed kimis, cnajeelo and muufo baadiya style. It is a myth they solely survived on meat and milk, though this may have been in times of scarcity.

And not all Somali pastoralist had the same diet. For example, digir or beans was consumed in some regions.

I'm trying to raise awareness in the community. Ricesludge has 0 nutrients it'sjust sugar and fiber. It's the worst food on the planet to eat and if you raise your kids on it they will end up being incels in the future.

I see what you are doing. Preach to your choir, but be careful peddling historical inaccuracies. Folks up north use to consume grains and rice predates Italians or any other whites.

East African trade was also susceptible to blockades in the Indian Ocean, wars and so forth. Diets can change within a short space of time. Same people you are parading use to eat kimis and canjeelo which is not so healthy. Some folks were still hunting animals not too long ago in the Somali peninsula.

Nomadic life itself can be brutal. We need things that work for us in modernity, ie people living in cities and towns, not the diet of some dudes who were trekking 20 kilometres a day and raid camels from each other.

eat complex carbs, fruits veggies a lot of red meat and get plenty of vitamin D and you’ll be fine.

Also drink water and make sure your body fat is between 10-15% and your appearance will look good as well as your testosterone production and hormone regulation

tf are you even saying, why would it be gay to look good?

I think a lot of it also has to do with the amount of sunlight you get, I remember being in Kenya and eating some junk food here and there never really had a strict diet of just meat and milk(in fact I think i drank milk there 10 times at most) but would get a lot of sunlight. People would mention how much healthier I looked when I arrived back in America.
