Overthrow the current gov't

Would you support the overthrow of current gov't and replace it with nationalist authoritarian one?

How about members of the diaspora form a new militia and topple the current gov't by any means. Afterwards, the new militia could utilities the current Somali Army to intiate a blitzkrieg across Somalia to reunify the country and get rid off terrorists. Once thats finished, they could establish a new authoritarian gov't that puts Somalia back on the right path and reorganise the society to modernise and industrialise the state.

They both have negative results
The man doesn't change the throne, the throne changes him
When you bring in an authoritarian government, human rights abuses and ethnic discrimination will be common
Genocide or civil war are a common trait with these dictatorships.
I'd stick with the current gov but with a new administration

Fair enough, but we definitely need a leader that gets things done.

What government? You mean those in Mogadishu who are guarded by AMISOM troops? You should change your thread to overthrow the current AMISOM government in Mogadishu :susp:

Anyone thinks authoritarianism will save us is insane. :reallymaury:
Whats your suggestion? Dont confuse totalitarianism with Authoritarianism. I dont want one guy to have total control over peoples lives, what we need is a strong man that is backed by a council of wise and educated individuals that will scrutinise his leadership and keep him in check. Check out the political system South Korea and Japan used when they were developing. Democracy wont work in Somalia because the people arent educated enough on whats best for the country. I only want an economic development focused gov't in the developmental stage, when Somalia becomes wealthy, educated and strong militarily only then will democracy take hold in Somalia.

Where will you find this council of wise and educated individuals? And what makes you think they would stop this Strong man from doing what he wants? The President has the monopoly of force while the "wise council" is a toothless tiger.

At least in a democracy the people have a chance to correct their mistakes. You don't have that option in a dictatorship.

The solution is that all Somalis have to realize that they must be willing to sacrifice their wealth, ego, status, lives etc. in order to make our country a functioning state. That is the price we must pay so that our children will have a better future.

I fully agree with you on the need to sacrifice those things, however we need a politcal system that is efficient and gets things done and transform Somalia into a modern state. Democracy will only bring more squabbling, time wasting debates and harmful corruption.
