All around the world we witnessing girls leaving boys behind due to toxic family structure and societal Standards between the two genders, one is pressured the other is just left alone and expected to succeed on their own

That's why it's important to have complete Equal society where there no favourites and where parent treat their children equally, both are expected to clean the dishes and pressured/motivated to do better in life

In my household is kinda fair and somewhat equal both genders are expected to do the dishes and clean but the toxic culture comes when family members or odayaal are visiting, all of sudden the woman are pushed into kitchen and basically treated like maids it's truly disgusting and it's cancer slowly killing us

To further add, it’s also causing an imbalance when it comes to marriageable men. Too many men not doing well financially, and tbh it is what it is, but it causes major issues when the only up side for women historically to marry certain men was due to financial security, but what is happening now when women can provide financial security but want a man who is kind, romantic and will help with the chores?

All in all, there is a disconnect now. Young men want traditionalism, but can’t afford it and they’ve centered being the ‘providers’ as men as being their only role in a marriage, but they’re dealing with women that have their own money and are looking at men saying hey, you need to be more then a fake provider that can’t provide. We want a marriage in which a man will pull his weight around the house and will treat us well.

Most Somali men aren’t even stem especially the 28+ crowd. Men mostly working in STEM compared to women doesn’t mean that they are especially when most STEM courses require uni attendance and men’s attendance is actually lower than women.

So really what you have is many women who have professional jobs and many men working in warehouse or Uber jobs ect and sprinkle in the smart STEM or corporate bros along with the small minority of smart but not academic who’ve decided to get a trad job.

Most men are either bums or are working good for themselves in trades or in STEM which both have +95% male workers. Majority of women [Somali especially] get into professions such as nurses and such.

Yes, boys in American schools lag behind in test scores. But fields like engineering, architects, mechanics, construction, electricians ect are basically all men

Look at the west today. More women are going to university than men but what degrees are they studying? Bullshit degrees, mainly social studies. Unless you are extremely gifted person in those fields, you will not earn well.

Most muslim wealthy countries outside of North Africa have more men then women studying in STEM.

Somalis and Somalia culturally speaking aren't really strict patriarchal society.

Historically progression always accompanied expansion of womens role in society , Somali women were quranic teachers, were part of the clergy as ''Sheikhas/Ay's''/Bints'', they led army troops as commanders in medieval times for example Bintu Maxfud Dalombiru and early modern period Hasna Doreh . They participated in ruling, either direct or indirect.

In economics/trade they managed funds and resources that was gathered, in industry although men were blacksmiths, woodcarvers/carpenters, masons, leather makers/tanners. Somali women were pottery makers, basket makers, wove fabric mats and jointly weaved cloth/textiles alongside men.

In the independence movements, Somali women formed their own branch among the SYL and participated in the struggle.

You also see their important role in Kacaan period Somalia women were seen as the backbone of the revolution and even were well represented in medicine, stem, upper levels of education, parliament and the first female pilot in the Muslim world and Africa was a Somali Asli Hassan Abade and they formed their own democratic organization with support of the government

When Malcom X said that you can measure the progress of society by the progression and inclusion of women. He was dead on, history testifies to it as well.
