Those animals were bred to fight, with such temperament ingrained in their natural behavior. What the owners do is to discipline the dog to suppress that disposition and provide a daily intensive exercise regimen to let out the incessant frustration of not biting something, otherwise, the dog will chew someone's arm off sooner or later.
There is a reason the dog is illegal in many countries, including mine. But I think I saw a real Pitbull once standing outside a store many years ago — I did not enter the store. It looked like it was guarding the entrance, and I wanted no smoke at the time.
