A lot of people don't know that the portugese attacked every port on the somali coast. They raided the east african coast the red sea the gulf of aden the arabian sea the indian coast and southeast asia. They even went as far east as japan and planned one time to take over the ming dynasty in china. They were the pirates or should i say the vikings of the indian sea. They set back progress and development of the ports and inhabitants of the coasts on the indian ocean.

Your list here is is quite amazing how were they this active while operating far from their home base in Portugal? They surprisingly were unable to take over ports on the somali coast, ports in the red sea and gulf of aden but they were successfully in their take over of omani coast and swahili coast. These portugese pirates were most likely driven by religious zealotry alhamdulillah that east africa survived a fate similar to that of latin america where they were completely conquered by vicious portuguese and spaniard.

Unlike the Dutch and British (smart imperialists) they just burnt down everything without an economic purpose, they set back the whole Indian Ocean region by 100’s of years

We Somalis were the only Africans to defeat them, both at naval and land warfare. Our ancestors were something else.

We were never in a position to defeat a superpower like the Portuguese. Stop believing what the incel nationalists wrote on Wikipedia. The Ya'rub dynasty of Oman defeated and expelled the Portuguese from East Africa.

Show me your proof, you’re spouting nothing but fallacies. They had numerous treaties in place with the locals, and a large non “colonial” presence. That’s does not mean they ruled us, if I’m wrong bring forth your evidence.
