There’s no government hence why this situation happened...

Even here in the USA about a 100 people die every year from floods. There's no amount of government power that will stop a natural disaster. Just look at the recent Houston floods.

At least he admits that they’re useless which I totally agree with. It’s time for people of Somalia to kick these ceremonial figureheads to the curb and handle their own business

Like Lebanon, they united even though they're different people, different religions and so forth.
They don't worship corrupt leaders even if they're from their own clans/religions etc.

Somalis need another thousand years to call out politicians.

But I think lebanese people are more business minded lol and not as dysfunctional

Somalis don't plan ahead. Those floodings have been happening for decades.
You know I think about that sometimes for food crops, why they don’t ever harvest and store away like Nabi Yusuf (as) did. But then I realized that some thing would probably happen to destroy it like a β€œmysterious” flame. Aid is a business for a lot of people so it dawned on me that they would do anything to keep people from preparing ahead knowing these things happen yearly

^There's actually people from in town that are claiming barriers and other stuff were removed by special interest groups/disaster profiteers

Somaliland supremacy
most of us live in the west we look at somalia through western standard eyes, any other third world country would have the same problem. manila floods in 2018 and before 25-100 people died, and it was a stable country but a third world country
the government in 3rd world countries would not be able to respond to emergencies like these, the poor fucker has alot of things to deal with and he doesn't have enough resources

It’s not just what the dowlad can do, it’s also what can we do? Our country is barely out of 30 years of instability and thus can not respond like first world country we live in. I believe we should all come together and assist our brothers and sisters in Hiiraan region. :)

They do and have been doing for centuries. I'm sure every farming community in the world keeps reserves anyway.

Beledwayn needs to be abandoned. This type of problem is too severe to be dealt with by a fragile and poor state like Somalia. The people of Beledwayn should have thought about the future before they helped overthrow the strong central state that could have saved them.
