Prof. Ahmed Ismail Samatar's speech on SL in Sweden

The Professor made some strong and convincing arguments regarding how SL's current attempts for recognition isn't enough and won't work unless something is done to change it...

I would to see him as the president wallahi, he is not a tribalist from what I seen....he speaks on importance issues most SL politicians ignore today.... I also think he is a breath of fresh air and he can be an alternative to the usual habar-habar politics that the running candidates are running on today...

Samatar will eventually find out that this is a clan project and that he has been a puppet all the while.
The reason there has been no recognition is because the outside world knows that this "Somaliland" is not the same as the Somaliland of 1960. Somaliland's best chance at recognition was the 90s and early 2000s when the rest of Somali was in a shambles. Now that it is finally stabilizing, the International Community will urge reconciliation. 25 years was long enough, and time is up.

You puntlanders flip flop so much. Somaliland best chance of recognition is a stable somalia so there can be an international dialog. We already have our neighbors support (Ethiopia and Kenya who won't allow another union). Also the professor already has seen how qabiil ridden Koonfur (including puntland) is and he isn't going to make the same mistake. Now khaatumo is slowly but surely coming towards somaliland so it will be Interesting.

Kenya and Ethiopia wouldn't recognize SL because it will open the doors for others separatist groups in Kenya the cushite and Muslim wants their own state Ethiopia is recovering from lost plus Oromo protest Ogaden.

Well the case of Somaliland is unique. It is Regaining it's independence rather than seeking new independence. Remember it was a country recognised by the world before uniting with somalia ( huge mistake) so that is the case somaliland is using to gain recognition.

There are also these regions having the same issue and were rejected for example Zanzibar (joined by force to Tanzania) Biafra (joined by force to Nigeria)
And they want to separate but got the big NO.

A puntlander, from a sub sub sub clan state who "cuts ties" with somalia every month when she's on her period calling somaliland a "clan project"....The amount of buffoonery you post.... :what:

@Thegoodshepherd

I don't think the Professor is stupid, if Somaliland was really a "clan project" he wouldn't be supporting it especially after two decades of constant opposition.....I agree we had a better chance back then but even now there I still think there is a chance....at the very least I see a 50-50 confederation as the only thing that might bring SL back into the fold something I'm even willing to entertain and support..

Puntland is explicitly a clan project, we are a qabil based entity and there is no reason to hide from that.

Somaliland on the other hand wants to have its cake and also eat it. Your people have failed to establish an actual state for over a quarter of a century. Proof of this is you mentioning a 17 year old state alongside a 132 year old political entity. :ftw9nwa:

Samatar has to support Somaliland because his people's only connection to Somalia is Isaaq. He has no political will of his own except under the parameters set by Isaaq. He understands this which is why he gave up on a united Somalia.

Are you retarded sxb, didn't you just call somaliland a clan project but now you are saying they are an established political entity (a state) for 132 years.

Secondly we all know your folk look up to us, you chosen Punt as a name, a region that northern somaliland was part of and added land to your name. You guys are nothing but a cheap mimicry of us. We see you as Koonfur sxb

Does Somaliland own the suffix 'land'?:draketf:

And what historical evidence is there that 'Somaliland' was the real Land of Punt?:childplease:

Samatar will not find out that this is a clan project because he's actually a Samaroonized Isaaq. The guy knows his real roots and it doesn't go back to Awdal iyo Borama.
