Thoughts on this piece by Prof Anisa Elmi?

I personally would disagree. Somalia should always choose the side of the oppressed. We don't even need the western aid and donations. We can live without them.

I don't think it'll impact much. Israel doesn't value us anyway and the west have bigger issues with Iran, Syria and Russia promising to arm Hezbollah. I think if anything there may be a statement put out to "clarify" the statement made by PM Hamza. However his speech stated his belief in the 1960s resolution of a 2 state solution, something some in the west aren't against. So far only horn african news outlets have picked up on it and any non horn african news outlets have displayed that westerners don't value the statement.

Worst case scenario is that the west will demand the statement clarified and PM Hamza to step down. But this geopolitics we're talking about, a lot happens behind closed doors and if there is any backlash then it'll be behind the scenes. The EU and US have sunk too much money into our state for them to cut.

I agree. Also I don't think that it will escalate to him loosing his job or losing the aid we recieve. The truth is the truth no matter who gets upset.

Yeah. I've come to accept that politically speaking it wasn't the best move, or at least not the best execution of the message. However I'm glad to see PM Hamza show his dedication to pursuing justice for the Palestinian people. He has become a political leader I respect heavily. I don't think we'll be punished since we're a recovering nation that poses no threat to Israel. In a couple weeks it'll be forgotten.

I feel like somalis are making a bigger deal than ajanabi about this.

A Nation that relies on Foreign Aid is not an independent country but instead an occupied one. Somali leaders must work to ensure that our Nation is free from the IMF World Bank.

This wonderful speech by PM Hamza is a dagger aimed at the hearts of AS that want to use religion to their advantage. The Somali governments support for Palestine will help raise moral for our troops who are fighting evil in this war against the Kharijites who are criminals just like the Zionists

This is a political blunder. I don’t believe we gained anything by these statements and in fact lost out more because of them. PM’s speech is incredibly shortsighted.

His words were quite insensitive “even if they cutting off our heads” isnt this what AS does to innocent civilians ?

This is why we need to make Ogadens the eternal kings of Somalia. They come from a strong line of religious household. They hate Gaalos and GaaloRaacs
:lawd:

This PM guy should stick to being a good local wadaad, he’s not cut out for government. This political blunder will cost us.

Somalia is already a failed state what more do we have to lose if we keep quiet from the truth? Seems like some people don’t want to lose their Buskud Dhiiq Aid package they receive from the west.
