Puntland finally learns the art of PR against Somaliland

In an interview with the BBC Col Cali Sabaray PL Information Minister former deputy of SSC said that Puntland had nothing to do with the ambush against Somaliland troops near Gambare where a convoy carrying Somaliland soldiers was attacked by Fayaal Falaalug and injured and fatalities were reported.

He said that Puntland doesn't do ambushes and that it would attack straight ahead but that Somaliland was attacked by local militia they have no cooperation with.

He said Puntland wouldn't tell them that they weren't allowed to engage in fighting against Somaliland from any territory and that they should not engage in hostilities with Somaliland.

I stated that Puntland used rhetoric and PR that makes it not look weak which under the previous administration they have done.

They distant themselves from the attack while at the same time saying they will not prevent locals from attacking Somaliland.

I have to applaud it like I do if Somaliland does something right or wins the rhetoric.

Sirlance indeed. The previous brainless Gaas administration was taking credit for night raids in Lasanod conducted by local militia and label it a Puntland attack.

This was stupid because Puntland did not do the attacking and it was embarrassing due to being reduced to guerilla warfare like it was a guerilla organisation.

The new able and competent leadership corrected that embarrassing claim.
