Puntland needs to invest heavily in training our locals in the hospitality sector. We need to diversify our production sectors like cafes/restaurants. We need to bring in Chinese-Thai-French-Italian-Indian-Arab cooking experts to teach our locals how to make different cuisines. This will generate a boom sector where they can get a business loan from the bank and begin diversifying our service industries.

I want our locals to have a thriving local market that specializes in various cuisines such as pizzas, kebab stores, burgers, ice creams, milk shakes, smoothies, cakes, pastries, noodles at an international standard level.

Right now they're is a huge skill gaps and the locals have no skills to perform these duties. We need to inform the puntland government the service sector will create thousands of jobs for cooks and waiters and it will also provide our livestock herders-fishery sector and farmers with new local restaurants and cafes to service.

These hospitality skills training injection will also increase our 'trade and manufacturing' sector becuse the ingredients needed or products will create a supply side reaction which will mean a boom-time for importers or manufacturers to source or create the various ingredients or products needed. We must work with the Banking sector to propose a pilot of 1000 new business loans for locals to begin these new start up after they have finished their hospitality training in various cuisines.

We as puntites still have this third world thinking of exporting raw materials like farming-oil-fishery-etc, but we need to have a second world mind-set where our economy isn't dependent on such 'petty' raw resources because Puntland is slowly shifting to an urban society and their will be more job demand in the towns and cities, so we need to focus on creating an urban economy where these locals have jobs.

As our rural population move to settle into city and towns, these industries such as fishery-farming-livestock will become a small 'sector' and our economic engine will be in the city where we are focused on manufacturing and services industries.

Hospitality-Light Manufacturing-Service sector investments is where I envision the big boom sectors are for us to tap into so we create a stronger urban economy not just sit there relying on exports of fishery-livestock-Frankincense. We must focus internally not look externally for markets.

Come in puntites, suggest mass employment programs so we can cut down on our unemployment levels, for everyone we can land a job in PL is a potential new home owner that will generate banking sector to boom with home loans, this will allow our light manufacturers in construction to boom like plumbers-electricians or doors-windows-nails-brick warehouses to hire hundreds of employees to service this urban boom.

We need active puntites in the diaspora, especially in mid-east-africa to target 'tourism' advertisement of Puntland so we can begin getting tourist dollars to visit our mountains, coasts, and towns. We need to get google rankings of Puntland to show the beautiful side of our region.

We should have large advertisement saying come and visit the 'land of punt' the holy land of the pharoahs and then have a 'frankincense' tree symbol as our 'tourist' icon. We must select the best outlet for advertisement in each country depending on where their people are busy watching.

Like I said yesterday, we need our version of Mittelstand.

What is Mittlstaand, can u elaborate? it will be interesting to note down other non english economic approaches.
It is a German word basically meaning small to medium sized family owned and operated businesses. One of the reasons why Germany has the strongest economy in Europe.
