I don't think this is the right thing to do. I mean the early puntlanders were diehard nationalist so just making our own independent state would be like spitting on their grave like the somalidiids. Divided we fall United we stand

If Puntland established some friends in the international community regardless of what country and who it is, it wouldn't be an issue to buy weapons. Now it probably won't be state of the art equipment but it would be enough for an army. Relying entirely on the south is a big mistake.. They can't even fund their own soldiers, the international community is paying their salaries. Come on..

Any deal would be on the low, under the radar so to say. If the arms-embargo was lifted then it would be even easier for Puntland.
