@Hilmaam this HSM tries to switch the conflict to darod n hawiye and tribalize it when we r like wat is wrong with this moryan trying to re implement a siyad barre system who was a much better man than he is and even he failed, how in the world can you convince Somalis or the world of going back to the very system that led to the civil war? he knows he has no political or intellectual capital to defend him and he resorts to isku dir on clans and bribes copying siyad barre.

i think puntland politicians share their true thoughts to much. It’s not good for national politics. You gotta let people hear what they want like I will build strong national army and will kick out Al shabab. Once you win seat then switch it up with the federalism. FGS will never willingly give up power. It’s in Mogadishu and HSM interest to control all the money and decisions in one place. It’s their golden goose and way to get leverage over rest of country using international funds and support. Look what’s happening to somaliland fgs is no joke even stopping flights maybe ships next

@DR OSMAN Do you agree with his assessment that pre-2012 the three govts that were parachuted in (Abdiqasim, AY, SS) were good for Somalia? Put AY aside ofc, Abdiqasim and SS. Abdiqasim he said it was a performative one but nevertheless neccessary given 10 years without any leader is soul crushing.

You keep saying let go of Xamar but its still the political capital, its the control centre, its where the hoard of international community unite.

For PL to be at its peak, it has two options:
- Push for a weak central govt or
- Have PL interests in both federal and FGS or
- Secede

The first will require the development of federalism to a level where central govt has minimal role other than being a de jure necessity within international community, but has no role in national stage. This imo will most likely never happen given IC is pushing for us to be a 'nation' (Who I attribute the failure of Xamar through propping up HAG).

The second is the most pragmatic but a missed opportunity. If this was 2006,then it would be plausibly. Maybe 2026... 20 years after AY, Deni wins we can flood Xamar and rewind like it was the 20th century when PL effectveily controlled and dominated it.

The final one is a long-term vision and one that needs many many things to happen before (e.g. SL seceding or civil war breaking out). It isn't plausible in the short-medium term.

With Hindsight 20-20 PL pushing for Federalism was a mistake, We could've just been a semi-autonomous state and not be a part of this mess. SFG has always been Federal in name but central in actions. Dual track needs to be reinstated ASAP. Meeshaas dowlad kama soo socoto ee halaga tashto.

- Push for a weak central govt - It's already weak but they are still capable of putting an isbaaro for international funds.
- Have PL interests in both federal and FGS - Deni winning presidency is not very likely as HAG already regret Garowe I & II and even if he does, when his time is over we will be back to square one.
- Secede - The world doesn't really give a shit about Somalia's unity or balkanization so secession for now is a pipe dream.
The more realistic option for PL is to push for being a semi-autonomous state like hongkong within Somalia. The more PL politicians flock to Xamar to sit in xalane containers the more we give up in power. I should not be sitting at the table with Ali guudlaawe and Axmed madobe who run Kismaayo.
