i think puntland politicians share their true thoughts to much. It’s not good for national politics. You gotta let people hear what they want like I will build strong national army and will kick out Al shabab. Once you win seat then switch it up with the federalism. FGS will never willingly give up power. It’s in Mogadishu and HSM interest to control all the money and decisions in one place. It’s their golden goose and way to get leverage over rest of country using international funds and support. Look what’s happening to somaliland fgs is no joke even stopping flights maybe ships next@Hilmaam this HSM tries to switch the conflict to darod n hawiye and tribalize it when we r like wat is wrong with this moryan trying to re implement a siyad barre system who was a much better man than he is and even he failed, how in the world can you convince Somalis or the world of going back to the very system that led to the civil war? he knows he has no political or intellectual capital to defend him and he resorts to isku dir on clans and bribes copying siyad barre.
Mark my words now, he can't face a federalist and why he needs to resort to.mafia tactics. He is just angry other clans r moving forward with their own priorities while his galmudug and hirshabellle r under shabab terror lol, wallahi lug goyo iyo xasidnimo bay ka tahay, i know how hawiye think I'm half hawiye but I tell them if other somali areas succeed and u fail at least meel ba ku nool who u can emulate, why do u want to bring all somalis down to galmudug iyo hirshabelle status and level?
I urge Puntites to let hamar go, you see how low they stooped, just care about your own interests.
With Hindsight 20-20 PL pushing for Federalism was a mistake, We could've just been a semi-autonomous state and not be a part of this mess. SFG has always been Federal in name but central in actions. Dual track needs to be reinstated ASAP. Meeshaas dowlad kama soo socoto ee halaga tashto. He spitting lots of factual information and I agree PL is on the right side of history, we don't hide our political position, we present it to Somalis and our reasoning for it, it's that HSM who can't dare come before the somali people about his centralism, he tries to hide it, do isku dirs and bribes and isbaaro development is that the actions of a.man who has any confidence of his politics? If your on the right side of history why are you resorting to mafia behavior HSM?
I know why HSM is doing what his doing and its purely majerten hatred and using the govt as money making scheme for his family but we dare him come before the people and face us rather then resorting to mafia behaviors If your politics is right. orod xiniyo yeelo sida naagaha oo kale behind the scenes ha ciyaarin.
I urge Puntites to let hamar go, you see how low they stooped, just care about your own interests.
- Push for a weak central govt - It's already weak but they are still capable of putting an isbaaro for international funds. You keep saying let go of Xamar but its still the political capital, its the control centre, its where the hoard of international community unite.
For PL to be at its peak, it has two options:
- Push for a weak central govt or
- Have PL interests in both federal and FGS or
- Secede
The first will require the development of federalism to a level where central govt has minimal role other than being a de jure necessity within international community, but has no role in national stage. This imo will most likely never happen given IC is pushing for us to be a 'nation' (Who I attribute the failure of Xamar through propping up HAG).
The second is the most pragmatic but a missed opportunity. If this was 2006,then it would be plausibly. Maybe 2026... 20 years after AY, Deni wins we can flood Xamar and rewind like it was the 20th century when PL effectveily controlled and dominated it.
The final one is a long-term vision and one that needs many many things to happen before (e.g. SL seceding or civil war breaking out). It isn't plausible in the short-medium term.
