Puntland: New Law that states Politicians are only allowed 2 bodyguards each

Remember when the N&N lackey Jamaal, showed up and paraded around with a mini-army? That's now banned in Puntland. This is a good start, the next law should be that nobody lines up at Airports and treats these civil servants like they are special. They are getting paid and should do their work with as minimal noise as possible.

Somalis spend too much time and money on welcoming these civil servants and applauding them for barely doing their jobs.

Even minsters will stop using military convoy in PL.

No one even greets Queen Elizabeth at the airport when she comes to Australia.

I always cringe when I see this, it’s obviously something organised by politicians.

I hardly doubt the average Somali family goes; β€œlet’s go to the local airport and welcome a politician in the searing heat.”

This horrible practise was inherited from the 'cult of personality' that Siad Barre/Kacaanism created. He forced people to treat him like a deity, made sure his pictures were everywhere and I heard every morning children at school were forced to sing for him.
Ever since then, Somalis have developed the habit of treating these public servants like they are special.

Another thing, there should be no images of Presidents in public, everyone knows who the President is so why is his picture hung up anywhere? This is a form of idolatry that is left behind from the kacaan cult of personality (1969-1991). Only authoritarian regimes employ such propaganda tactics.

The only time it should be permitted is when it's political campaigning time and candidates need to get their posters up.

The only genuine crowd of people that went to airport to see someone come was when Sh Mustafe Ismaciil showed up, everyone was excited.

Also when high level isimo come people are pretty excited.

But a low level FGS minister like Gamal, he set everything up ofc. He never pulled stunts like that in Xamar so why in Garowe.:dead1:

This is why Somali Politics is so intense, it is a huge draw for narcissistic and sociopath personalities, Somali people think becoming a politician equals wealth and as a bonus; public adoration.
That's why these public servants must be stripped of all this unnecessary power and adulation.

Nobody should even be able to recognise them in public unless they closely follow politics.

It's insane. I asked kids back home what they wanted to study in jamacaad and they all responded with some combo of econ/law/politics. More power to them, but these aren't the most employable fields for daljoog kids. I try to explain to them but the richest people they know are politicians, so they only want to follow them.

I kinda wish Somalia was like UK, with clear class levels. Average mid class joe in London doesn't keep up w siyasaad, they talk about their work and footie.:damnmusic:

The airport line up always pisses me off. I could even understand if the president was away for months.

Good. Some of these politicians especially wasiirs are insane, you would think they're going to war or they're public enemy number 1. Their guards are armed to the T and follow them everywhere. It might teach them to stop fucking people over and creating enemies to the point they're afraid of their own shadow and can't take a piss without an army escorting them.
