“Generally, in Somaliland and Puntland, very few groundwater sources will conform to international standards, ” the report said, adding: “The salt content of the water commonly exceeds 1.5 g/l, which under normal circumstances is the upper limit for human consumption, but acceptance of water with relatively high ion concentrations is a necessity, as there is usually no alternative.”

Can't we add proper chemicals in the boreholes of Puntland to clear up the salt levels and dissolve it? This requires an understanding of how chemicals work, because chemicals can be 'dissolved' if you use 'opposite' chemical compounds and measure it to ensure it dissolves. Where are our bright science buffs @Nalle why aren't Puntland university students taking samples of Puntland water and going to the labs to measure the salt level. Take a glass of normal bottle water, take a glass of puntland local water and compare the difference. Get equipments to measure the difference. The begin applying tests to see chemical compound we need to dissolve the salt level.

Come on Puntlanders, get to work, this stuff ma aha wax wayn. Get of your asses rather then sitting on FKD and make Puntland a safer drinking water state. As for Somaliland keep chewing your khat you FKD nutcases, this is Puntland we don't mess about on progress. Then apply a little maths. If it takes 1 gram of chemicals to dissolve a glass of water which is 250 ML. Work out how much it will need to dissolve giga-liters of water by using your sample rate of the cup of local water and multiply. Then head your bloody asses to the water wells and begin operations to clear up puntland's water supply so we can all drink from the 'tap' without vomitting at the salt level.

How disgraceful in Puntland. Ma aha waxad awoodi la'dahay inaad machine yar soo ibsatan kadibna boyad yar oo chemical dhigtan meelaha ceel biyoodka ah ka bacdi ku shuba chemicalka from machineka oo ku xiran boyadka sifaynayo biyaha inu markasi pipeka uu maro xafadaha isago biyo macan ah. Wa mashruc yar lagu dhamayn karo 1 week gudaheeda.

Call it the Biyo Macan Project, I hope the next president of Puntland has this apart of his political program, biyo keliya lama rabe ee biyo la cabi karo ayaa la raba. Dammit sheet waan isku naxay wallahi markan aqriyay biyuhu waa wada cusbo.

Puntland Govt has it's plan and is doing it's best. It has envisioned the following projects

1. Solar Lights. To light up the city/towns/tuulos from darkness
2. Roads internally inside towns like garowe, galkayo, bosaso, qardho, buhodle, badhan
3. Roads inter-regionally like garacad to galdogob(first phase completed dirt track). Erigavo to El Dahir(first phase dirt track completed). Lafa-goray the coastal qandala-calula-northern bari road network. Eyl To garowe coastal road(done), Bayla to Qardho(coastal road done), Hafun to Qardho road(done)
4. Ports expansion in Bosaso to upgrade it's delivery capacity. Plus Garacad port to penetrate the open Central DDSI livestock Market, this can be expanded further into oromia to service it's bagash and commodity requirements.
5. Airports. Bosaso and Garowe are complete and tarmac run-ways with terminal towers. Galkacyo is next. Qardho, Badhan, Buhoodle on the list for dirt track run-ways as Galkayo-Bosaso-Garowe will have small flights into smaller town airports which are dirt track.

Once the Infrastructure Age is complete, which should've been completed in the 5 years of Abdiweli gaas. Puntland will head into the 'energy' requirement phase. We need to determine how much 'power' and electricity supply we need before we begin addressing this short-fall area. We can not enter manufacturing without cheap electricity because factories and plants use lots of power, it's not like a home that is just charging a laptop, phone, or small light bulb. Were talking lots of machinery that use lot's of power needs. We needed to enter this phase in this presidency talking about energy supply not biyo macan projects or roads.

Our communication links are all 'fiber' and reach every town, SL hasn't even achieved one town with 'fiber' and they started the project way before us with 'somcable' but it has failed and they refuse to recognize it. At least PL recognizes where it has failed and is looking to rectify it like biyo macan project and why we are always going to 100 years ahead of SL who fails to acknowledge half it's hargeisa shit in the streets because toilets have no water pipes.

Puntland is on it's way, we have our self defined development plan. We have identified key resources

Puntland does not have good water, that is a verified fact.

The reason it won't change is that a lot of businessmen made a lot of money off private clean water companies go alongside the existing tap water companies.

The market is already divided up in PL and anyone that tries to change it will probably face a lot of resistance.

Mogadishu parts of it still has the 'old' siyad barre water infrastructure and water wells, so some xafaads you can drink str8 from the tap itself and it's biyo sifaysan as they call it ama pure water, but newer water wells in mogadishu off the siyad grid network is just as pathetic as puntland. They need to operate one water the tap water for cleaning clothes, then they buy big 20 liter water container to drink at home, then they have separate water for cooking needs.

It's like crazy wallahi and I suspect Puntland homes are the same also when it's less then 5k to purchase chemical machines and pipe it to the water well and clear it up. Wa arin lala yaabo soo ma aha sxb in manta biyaha dalka aan la cabi karin and u need to buy bottled water.

My house in Galkacyo has taps connected to the kitchen, bathroom, laundry etc.

But we still need to get the 20L water tank to drink.

It's very cheap to pipe up your home like toilets, kitchen, bathroom, laundry, that is personal individual problem and comes with when you build a house to do yourself waxasi, even in the west it is the same, they are not responsible for your pipe needs inside your internal home. They just ensure a pipe network reaches your 'suburb' so you can connect to it.

We have succeeded inPuntland ensuring the water pipe network reaches 'xafadaha' even mogadishu did this recently 3 years ago, where it begun laying pipe networks to each xafad to connect to it. Hargeisa has failed this part, maba jiro pipe network half of hargeisa, so it connects to nothing their internal piping guriyashooda, you can imagine the stink in the toilet where it cannot flush or the latrines have to be cleaned out with your hand because their not going anywhere in sewerage as their is no pipe.

Our house came with the taps connected to the water system and a fresh water delivery service.

We bought the house brand new.

What I want to ask you is does Puntland water system let's say galkacyo for example and your house, is the 'pipes' wide enough for 'large volume of water' to come out of the taps or shower-head? the problem in mogadishu is from what I was informed by my reer abti is the water is so weak and 'dacif' because the pipes are 'tiny' there-fore the water volume and strength is like pathetic and 'just droplets' come out basically out of the shower head. Can you have a decent shower in your home with good water pressure or do you suffer the same problem because this could be a 'small pipe' issue at the 'water service provider' who is to cheap to upgrade the pipes to bigger diameter so more water can be pushed into the pipes into the xafaads.

I can't remember the shower head quality but the tap water pressure was good and a lot of water comes out.

However during the 2017 drought, the water pressure was considerably lower but still wasn't too bad.

If the tap water is strong the shower-head will be ok also, it depends on the water utility pipe outside and if that pipe is small, it doesn't matter what type of showerhead you have or taps, the water will be 'low flow' because the pipe is tiny outside the house hence water flow will also be smaller, it's pretty basic concepts. The problem they have in mogadishu and they argue constantly with the water providers to upgrade the pipe to be wider in dimension so then they can get decent water flow inside their house and not 'droplets'. It seems like Galkacyo is safe from that. But we need to address the water quality now, it's a simple machine and chemical compound in lagu xiro ceel biyoodka oo mar kasta sifaya biyaha intusan pipeka galin.

We need to fix it at the water well level not at the 'xafad' because the pipes carry water from the wells into the xafad so if the well is clean water, the water flow in the pipes will also be clean and you will save so much money not buying 20 liter containers constantly. Plus it's not even expensive to do.

Its easy but there is an agreement between the clean-water and tap providers to maintain the status quo.

Both profit massively from the state of water in PL: The tap water company will receive customers no matter what and the clean-water company will receive customers no matter what.

Its an oligarchy that benefits all parties.

Galkacayo water is warm. I was taking a shower and turned the blue faucet that indicated “cold water” and felt like your typical luke warm water. So I use that to shower

@DR OSMAN lmaoo why are you @ing at me in the political section:nahgirl:, also you do realize that I’m from SL:ta aad karbaasheysid:cryinglaughsmiley:

Anyways jokes aside, I agree with you on many points. We need to do better. You got many great ideas as usual, and yeah you are right about fixing the water levels for everyone and not just for wealthy xafaads, and the network pipes should totally be a priority. I like that, cad nool baad tahay inoo sii fikir sxb :denzelnigga:

A bit off-topic but
