Correct, its time to build our own self .Somali Politician should demand that the food aid should be first bought from Somali farmers or invest in agriculture before the bringing their grains from abroad
Puntland been created since 1998 without Aid .Dont think Puntland or any other state is secure enough to disqualify themselves from aid

Thats amazing. But we are a third world country. Why would we move from international aid? Theres no economy, people live in poverty and have to rely on diaspora to send them moneyPuntland was initially funded by Bosaso Port, and that same money was used to fund the first Federal Government of Somalia.
Aid makes you lazy and dependent on foreigners. It also destroys the local economies such as farmers and retailers because people can just get food and other necessities from NGOs.Thats amazing. I agree with you but as long as remittance is a thing I dont think somalis will try hard to improve their situation. Also most people back home are uneducated and only are preoccupied with basic needs and stupid clan wars, I dont think anything is changing in the foreseeable future. Maybe cutting off aid is going to help them smell the coffee. Im sorry Its just hard to be optimisticAid makes you lazy and dependent on foreigners. Agriculture is not a huge money maker (very thin margins), it is usually propped up by funds and tax breaks from their respective governments. It is illogical to produce local good if you are going to be out competed by cheaper goods from aid.
The country as a whole becomes less innovative and becomes dependent on other countries that can manipulate it in the form of soft power. That is literally what is happening in Somalia currently. America literally cuts aid from countries that introduce laws that they don't agree with.
Furthermore, very little aid goes to the people that actually need it, politician steal the aid and resell it back to the people they were elected to help.
This is a step in the right direction.
Turkey already has the whole country in its hands so does america. The country as a whole becomes less innovative and becomes dependent on other countries that can manipulate it in the form of soft power.
That's what you get when the country is led by uber drivers and warehouse workers.Turkey already has the whole country in its hands so does america.

accused #Somalia’s Federal Government of blocking Puntland’s share of foreign aid intended for Somalia.
Thanks to them our people knows the meaning of work and earn so you can live. The criminals who hijack the federal government, have forced Puntland to be even more self-sufficient, because they constantly steal our share of international funding. Every single year, it's the same issue that rears its ugly head. This is the thanks Puntland gets for building the Federal Government itself:
And we wonder why some Somalis, are growing weary and even calling for independence. How many more years, must we endure this behaviour?
Indeed, you will see selling anything like they use to do in 90s for money. In the near future, all of Somalia will be forced to go without international aid due to donor fatigue and other priorities. If Puntland is forced to take the painful step towards self-suffciency now due to a hostile Xamar, then when the fateful day comes and Xamar is cut off the aid, Puntland will already be ahead again.
In Jubaland we learned this lesson under Farmajo. If it wasn't for Kismayo port, we would have been destroyed. sufficiency is key
