By far the most confusing people.
They speak Somali yet most of them claim Oromo. I know plenty of Jaarso people and they never claim Somali they call themselves Oromo/ Ethiopian

Are they Somalized Oromo , Dir or federation?

They are facing identity crisis.

So ignorant but I always assumed they were a Somali tribe. I know this one family who I thought were Somali but only found recently they were an oromo tribe.

They are oromo but they cling on to and marry a certain Somali tribe which ends up muddying the waters.

See also borana. They're Oromo but claim Garre is Oromo too. That's how these people have such big numbers, I went to school with a jaarso. In NO way are they Somali, except maybe having a mother/grandmother who is.
