Puntland President launches road project between Qardho, Bayla

QARDHO, Puntland- The President of semi-autonomous region of Puntland, Abdiwali Mohamed Ali “Gaas” has launched a road project connecting Qardho town to Bayla district in Karkar region on Monday, Garowe Online reports.

The new road is estimated to be 220 kilometers long and will be constructed through the partnership of Puntland government and public.

In the launching event, President Ali noted the new project will take part in the efforts to develop the infrastructure of the region, which will facilitate movement of communities, goods and services between the areas. President Ali also added that Bayla district is a historic town and rich in natural resources.

On the other hand, President Ali has also cut the ribbon of the water well project in Dhudub village. The new water well is powered by solar panel and was constructed by Puntland State Agency for Water Energy and Natural Resources (PASWEN).

However, the delegate is expected to return back to Garowe, the capital of Puntland state, following trip to drought-stricken vicinities and remote villages in eastern regions.

President Gaas visited Qardho and opened the new hospital in Qardho, this hospital will be a game changer for Puntland's healthcare which we needed. Gaas set the stone last year in November and its now complete alhamdullilah. Hopefully, the next hospital will be in Gaalkacyo and we continue to focus on healthcare.

Is that the actual name Gardo or is it Qardho
The should be one spelling for Somali place names.

Hargeisa - Hargeysa
Burco - Buroa
Muqdishu - Mogadishu

And the list goes on, we should stick to one spelling

Gardo is basically the english version just like Burao-Burco the real nane is Qardho, I agree it gets confusing with all the names.

Don't like that, because eventually we gotta digitalise all these towns create signages and put them on Google maps gonna be hard when they all have didn't spellings.
