1. Don’t feed them Xaraam (ceydh...”we are separated “...undeserved section 8)

2. have limited children. This is not Somalia. These children will need tremendous time and energy in this land. You have 11 kids, best believe you’ll lose control of them. This will be financially impossible unless you are feeding them Xaraam

3. Move away from the inner city, projects, near other Somalia. Remember, other Somali kids are the catalyst to putting your child on a terrible trajectory.

4. attend school conferences. Have them in programs, school clubs, sports

5. Take your child to scientific fairs, museums, have them explore of scientific geniuses such as Newton and Galileo. Encourage them to do an essay for you and reward them. Discourage them admiring madoow entertainers. Explain to them that “it’s a waste of time aabo/hooyo. It’s a tool to divert the attention of minorities. I want you to be independent when you become an adult. I am getting you ready to success. You want the best car soomaha dad? You want the best clothes soomaaha dad ? For all that to happen you got to study hard and score great in your exams.

6. go on trips with your kids. Get them away from studying. Communicate with them. Befriend them.

7. Have them study the Deen and raise them with akhlaaq and salaat.

8. take them back home as much as you can. Show them this misfortune and explain to them how lucky they are.

All your points are facts but it will take a long time to undo the culture of lazy parenting.

They think it’s Africa where kids are basically made to be adults from the day they’re born. That mentality in America will get your children either behind bars or 6 feet in the grave.

The advice is solid, but it isn't foolproof. Your forgot to mention actually spending quality time with your kids and to restrict internet use until the age 13. The mainstream media is meant to normalize deviant behavior, but unfortunately many Somali kids succumb to idolizing these foolish puppet entertainers. Why does the rap industry glorify drugs, murder, sex, and money because it sells, a lot the entertainment industry is tied in with drug trade. A lot Somali kids need to learn not to be sheeps and don't follow the crowd that will lead you astray, don't adopt certain Western behaviors that could result in maladaptive behaviors.

Fathers gotta be emotionally attached to their kids, especially their sons. Big reason some somali households are broken is because they lack father figures.

One thing id like to add is to get to know your childs friends I seen alot somali parents telling their kids to stay away from cadaan kids cause they can end up introducing you to alcohol or drugs cause they have no deen etc

And that same parent wont batch an eyelid if they're kid is hanging with other somalis unaware that theres somali youth that do drugs and drink and can be a worse influence than cadaan kids

This is why any kid that your son/daughter befriend invite them over for dinner and ask them questions get to know them and see if they're a positive influence

This thread is wholesome! :salute:

Children don't get to choose their parents and as such shouldn't suffer. Lets learn from others mistakes and do better for our community.

No offence but 99% of Somali kids in the UK were raised on xaraam money. No wonder these kids disgrace their parents and end up becoming thugs and going prison. I think you forgot 1 point, which is setting an example to your children. You cant tell them how to live their life if you barely got your shit together. Become a parent that's admired.

My God, my kids are gonna be so lucky to have me as a dad, I just need a hard working, educated xaliimo just like my mother in order to raise the perfect Somali kids.
