Since the formation of Somaliland, GX have never won a single election. I don't know how things will go on. Somaliland's democracy is only tribal parties, which won't change. HA/HJ are going to permanently lead Somaliland just like how Amharas/Tigrayans lead Ethiopia.

Nothing to worry about, Waa iska hadal. I doubt a civil war will happen. The election was a dog and pony show for the West. They will not risk it. The whole premise of SL is “we are better than Somalia”, plunging into a civil war is not gonna happen. Like any election the tension is thick but it’s only temporary.
It’s also in Puntlands interest that there not be a civil war otherwise it’ll create instability for us. Your GX folks are just not comfortable with war criminal Biixi and Kulmiyes strong arming tactics, rightfully so.

This historic event is what came to mind for me as well. It would be nice if some heavyweight isimo from Puntland could return the favour.
Yeah precisely. Anyone with an ounce of a brain could see where this would lead. It's ludicrous to create parties and hold elections for a primitive clannish people. It will inevitabley lead to war, especially when some clans figure out a way to permanently sideline others, like has happened in SL. We need a sysyem where a council of wax-garad choose the president, and rotate it between the major clans every 4 or 5 years.

True. If everybody is voting for their clan candidate regardless of merit, then that negates the purpose of democracy. Even Puntland's system would be better in that case. The tens of millions spent on elections, the delaying of elections due to droughts, and now instability. This is simply too much for an unrecognised poor state like Somaliland.
No, this HA/HJ alliance dates back to the parties created at independence from Britain. The HA and HJ don't border each other, except for a few places in Saaxil, so they don't have beef. But they both border and have beef with Garxajis. Hence their alliance.

lol that’s why I said it’s a shot in the dark. I don’t see why GX aren’t getting leadership tbh, but there definitely won’t be a war there’s too much on the line. Somaliland is extremely poor, the port deal is supposed to help the economy, and SL is always bragging about being more peaceful and democratic than Somalia. SL is a show pony.
Instead of using so much aid on elections, it’d be better spent on building jobs and infrastructure. These old men fight over kuraas when 70% of the population are young, unemployed landers because they don’t want to face reality and admit that recognition is a dream.
Exactly, this whole Somaliland project is a complete joke. I feel sorry for all the Isaaqs who thought we were different from other Somalis and that Somaliland was something special and was on the road to progress. There has been no real progress since 1991 in that God forsaken place, and there is no recognition coming. I only care about one thing, and that's the peace. I care about the peace of all Somali regions, and I would be sad if shit was hitting the fan in Puntland as well for example. But it's extremely worrying to me when its Somaliland because I have immediate family living there, whom I fear for their safety.
