Rich Somalis???

I know we have a few rich somalis around the world, but why don't we encourage our people to invest more, build businesses or become financially literate? Almost every single Somali household I've seen is on some sort of government assistance, while they hide they're 💸 from the government. Our people need to start building wealth so we can build back home

I’m not gunna lie some of your threads are qashin

but I’ve never heard of rich Somalis that grew up in Somalia and came to the west as adults

I only post qashin threads to get views and replies :chrisfreshhah: and it's basically impossible to get rich in Somalia :ohhhdamn: so we gotta get rich here in the west :dabcasar: then go back home and rebuild :hahaidiot:

Rich Somalis mostly live in Africa and in the uae, but there is a growing middle class and professional in the west, bear in mind we came with nothing 20 years ago

Yes
basically this dude is my grandpa's brother.
And another one from the Borreh family in Djibouti.

Fun fact: both families marry up in a weird way,and they are forming one giant dynasty.
Wealthy Somalis do exist!
Planning one day to become one

UAE Somalis are ballers, also lots of Somalis in Southern Africa.

Some of my fellow Reer Khaleej have a nasty habit, though. They are rich but they do literally nothing with the money. They just save it up in their bank account or in the form of assets. And no, not for any kind of rainy day or future plan or charity... Some of these people are in their 50s, 60, 70s and aren't even giving it to their kids or have no kids in some cases. They're just weirdly tight-fisted and make money just so they can say they make money. It's weird meeting someone you hear has hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars but lives in a gloomy apartment in a poorer part of town while wearing raggedy cloths. They have no concept of how to enjoy their money and live a good life.

Financial literacy is good though. It allows one to build wealth the end goal isn't to look rich but to be rich. Isn't it

That's the problem, abowe. I wouldn't find them odd if they were saving up for a purpose like saving up for the next generation but they're honestly not. A lot of these people really just have this strange mentality of having money so they can say they have money whille, in the meantime, they have a pretty miserable way of living. If you meet them on the street you'll think they're any random Reer Tuulo back in the hooyoland by the way they dress and carry themselves. There is no refinedness or any enjoyment in life or charity or anything. But please keep in mind that this is only one subset of the folks among us Reer Khaleej who have money.

Maybe they just like money but don't really care what it does for them. There's people who love money to the extent they won't spend it at all. Loving money like that's is unhealthy and bad for you. Why not live comfortably than living rafad. I really don't know. I love lacag but not to the extent I would live in borderline poverty. I fully understand your point.
