Jesus son of Moses, or Isa ina Musa is one of 5 clans deriving from Musa ina Zubeir ina Cabdulraxman ina Isxaaq, more than a hundred years ago Richard Burton, Speke, and Lieutenant Stroyan all travelled in the Somali country, first landing in Xiis where they stayed for a few days, they sailed until they reached a Warsangeli village on the coast called Bandar Gori, they did meet the Gerad of that time and the entire story is documented in Speke's log which I will post.
The earliest Somalis who encountered the Brits were the inhabitants of Berbera, and no, they did not kiss their feet or give them any such courtesy. In fact they threw javelins at them and often slaughtered the entire crew of the ship, and plundered their stocks.
This is from "The Unknown Horn of Africa"
This is a image of Speke escaping imprisonment and a impending death
Two very good historical accounts of the early encounters with the Somalis and the Somali Country
