This isn't surprising.

There's a large influx of muslim immigration in the West.

They also have a higher birth rate than westerns.

As a result, to maintain their European identity, they probably feel compelled to force cultural norms.

Also the French have been anti religion since the revolution. They had a Deistic religion and killed Christians.

Banning hijabs is a pretty tame act by the French.

Muslims should stop going there and let them have their economy destroyed with the lower population and weak ass birth rates.

If she actually gets elected and implements the hijab ban, I wonder how the rest of the world will react. Muslim women aren't the only ones who cover their hair, other faiths/cultures do. The UN better look into this a a human rights violation.

Exactly. I know plenty of Orthodox Jews who wear a headscarf as apart of their faith, same with Nuns, and Orthodox Christians during prayer. I wonder what France’s response would be.

Sorry but France is such a shit country. Imagine a potential leader actively trying to ban the identity and way of life of a certain population, people she’s supposed to represent and look after their interests. If they feel so strongly towards different cultures/religions why not just ban immigration all together.

Ever since watching the DSK rape case I was reading about the culture in France etc . And how the french (Latin ) and Anglo Saxon countries differ when it comes to everything . During the colonial era , the English didn’t care what the native people wore or dressed as long as they had the same thought process as an English person. It was the other way round with France , they believed they were civilising the natives and wanted them to evolve and become french . The two countries still operate in the same way .

also french and American feminists are different . Americans accept intersectionality ( your background , race , class affects ur status in society ) but french insists upon universalism . They don’t like to accept diversity and différences.


So banning the hijab won’t solve the issues at hand. Next they’ll propose banning halal food , ethnic names , clothing etc it’s never ending
