Regardless the Russians have been doing very well and it really won't be long to take the entirety of Bakhmut. They aren't in a hurry tbh.
It's not really a village per say but a collection of settlements that are connected to each other and has underground passages that act as resupply chains. It is also heavily fortified and the Ukrainians have been dug in quite well, the surrounding terrain of Bakhmut is also challenging for any quick offensives.6 months later and they still haven't taken this village.

The Russian army & Wagner group have already completely encircled Bakhmut and the other surrounding areas around it, the Ukrainians can either continue getting pummeled with artillery or surrender/flee.
