Somalia needs Ogaden region more than Ogaden needs us. our only two rivers Come from there and we must secure them. I know the dangers of Somaliland seceding and breaking up of the Somali nation in mini states but this is better in comparison to past 25 years of failure by the politicians of Somalia.

Mogadishu can no longer continue to claim leadership over the Somali nation and if that takes Somaliland to become an internationally recognized nation then so be it.

What Somalia truly fears is another rival Somali state who will have the ability to carry the burden of leadership and be a beacon for Somalis everywhere.

Ever since 1991 Somaliland has been that light even with all the plots and hopes for it's destruction by foreigners and fellow Somalis alike.

If Somalia really wanted unity it would drop it's claim over Somaliland and negotiate new terms of unification. Until then the status quo will continue and both states will bring one another down like crabs in a bucket for the benefit of our adversaries.
