Shabaab morale must be low despite the SNA problems. Reports are they’ve been burying hundreds in Jacar, Galhareeri after the Cowsweyne attack.

This man is one of the most committed and ideological Shabaab emirs. All is not lost! Hopefully the gov can win the media propaganda war

Sacad MP says he’s not worse than any of the other former Shabaab now with gov positions so he’ll be forgiven by the government.

This is part of the amnesty HSM offered to Shabaab members who give themselves up.

If he was higher up worth millions where is his people under his command. He should be sent back to bring them in if they haven’t done so already

Reewin. Lixda Gobol ee Maayland unii leh!
He should be welcomed with open arms. It's possible he has valuable information that can help with wiping out the khawaarij.

Most recognised Shabaab emir in Mudug. Very big deal, Shabaab are trying to get ahead of defections. There’s been fighting where scores of Shabaab that were defecting were caught and fighting ensued.

Better to have the main guys pull out, these committed Shabaab footsoldiers from KG or Ethiopia who have nowhere to go will have lack of operational ability without leaders like Nuur Deeq

Not sure if this guy is the same guy named Abdirashakur Deeq(Sacad) described as al shabaab Wali of Mudug region in a UN report

This guy is too laandheere for that. He has a chance to become a Minuster if he plays his cards right

What's up with former high ranking shabaabist becoming part of the gov't? Don't they suspect that ideological hardliners may still collaborate with AS?

I swear Somalia's leadership will never cease to amaze me. I'm even sceptical of giving them amnesty but to go as far as allowing them to be part of the gov't, especially while AS continue existing, is the dumbest decision ever. No wonder why AS isn't eradicated.
