Sheikh Omar Ahmed Gole Al Azhari, a graduate of Al Azhar University in the early 1910s.

Interesting. This is connected to what i shared before on Somalis in Al Azhar during the mid-late 1800s and early 1900s. Al-Azhar was like a nexus point.

Not only that Somalis started to mass producing arabic books via publishing houses in East Africa and Cairo during this period, started to form a print culture

Sad to see this part of Somali history isn't appreciated enough. The work of our scholars must start being pushed by other Somali

It is definitely is. Several historians and scholars writing about it,, mostly in Arabic. Most of the names to me is also known through religious Somali sermons i hear online as well, where they tell the stories of different sheikhs.

For english versions you can look up Abdurrahman Badiyows writings he specifically about the Islamic movements.
