It’s because of the empty rhetoric of Iran, Hezbollah, and the Houthis that they've cultivated a fanbase. Iran and Hezbollah have been fighting deep in Syria against the marginalized Sunnis, with the Assad regime’s mistreatment of Sunnis for nearly half a century and the invasion and takeover of Iraq by Shia proxies fueling a war against Sunnis. This environment has enabled Khawarij recruitment, which in turn has been used by these forces as justification for even more violence.

The Houthis are nothing more than a family-run warlord clique. They are essentially doing what Somali "pirates" have done, but because we are Black and poor, without the support of leftist sympathizers in the west, we were easy targets for the world to rally around and beat on. To be clear, the Houthis are not targeting Israeli ships; they are engaging in piracy to enrich their zaydi warlord clique.

In contrast, Somali "piracy" was a response to the theft of fishermen’s livelihoods. Yemenis never faced that situation; in fact, Yemeni fishermen were some of the most prolific thieves in our waters during the civil war.

"They've supported Palestine!" The vast majority of money and aid is coming from Sunni countries. Jordan has naturalized millions of Palestinians, and the Arab League proposed the Arab Peace Initiative. However, due to Iran’s influence on Hamas, they did not meaningfully participate, which is one of the reasons it stranded.

Iran views Palestinians as pawns, to be sacrificed whenever the U.S. and Iran discuss removing sanctions. The day those talks succeed is the day Iran’s support for Palestinians and its proxies ends, as their support is self-serving rather than ideologically sincere.
