Poor countries having an open border would be equally disastrous. You'd have constant conflicts spilling over to the next country which is already happening lol also methinks it would stifle development, everyone would just immigrate to the country who're doing marginally better lol which would effectly hinder progress

UK would have stayed if poor and backward Eastern Europeans weren't part of the EU.

They definitely prefer migration from Eastern Europe over third world countries but nonetheless there's a real disdain for Poles among the white working class Brits. Polish people don't blend into society half as well people make it out to be. They hate gypsies more than anything though. Even most of my Asian friends have unironically voted out because they just don't want gypsies moving here. Wallahi my mother was telling me even Somali ladies she knows voted out for the same reason. It's true though, a lot of the people that voted out were thinking it would somehow affect immigration from third world countries.

There would be new wars in the global South if that idea came into being, holy shit it would be chaos! New borders would be drawn up too, due unrecognised states taking the opportunity to gain independence. Tribal wars would also erupt as the status quo gets disrupted. The EU is falling apart with the rise of populist parties, in my opinion, the EU has become too large. The EU was a project that was intended to build bridges amongst Europeans through trade but then it turned into something far more political. It began dictating laws and literally told countries what they can and cannot do in their own domestic affairs. The EU project is failing (that's if it has failed already).

Also, the inequality within the EU was demonstrated in how it treated the poor Greeks and how it let Germany pounce those bloody borders like a knife through butter! I like Angela Merkel but the open door policy for the refugees was stupid, incompetent and a career ending move.

In my opinion, I wish the EU can go back to its original format where it was all about trade. f*ck the free movement of labour!!! Nobody needs unskilled workers coming over in large numbers and taking the jobs that average Brits can do. It's not that Brits don't want to work, it's that unskilled foreign workers are far cheaper than native workers. This shit drives wages down!!!
