SHOULD SOMALIA FOLLOW THE GULF STATES MODEL INTERMS OF CITIZENSHIP?

As Somalia is heading towards stability and progress (thankx to the kacaan) one issue that is vital to the country's future on who is somali or not and could shape the future of the nation is the issue of citizenship.

We all know somalis have been scattered all over the world and some have intermarried. Alot of returnees will therefore claim the right to citizenship. Some who have no connection to Somalia at all among them would claim citizenship.

Should Somalia therefore follow the model of citizenship in the gulf states? In the guld states one can only become citizen through fathers lineage.

For instance a qatari woman Married to saudi man, her children can only obtain saudi citizenship and not qatari one even though they are both of arab decent.

I therefore want somali citizenship to be based on fathers lineage and it has to be proven!

It should lead up the exploitation of natural resources. When the first production well hits Somalia, I think the governement should use a blockchain software that uses DNA, Finger Printing and notery for establishing a solid identity system.

If health care and social services are relative to the gulf countries; than citizenship fraud will turn into a nightmare and oromos would pay cash to learn Af Somali.

For 1000s of years our Somali identity was protected by clan affiliation. Qabil insures who is who and sadly it might be one of the key factors to micromanage and control citizen fraud.

Somalia passport was way better than most passports under aabo siyaad.

The likes of Meles zenawi and Jakob zuma use to travel with somali passport.

This is what we need :ohlord:

I can imagine half somali children and their mothers :mahubowtf:

What makes them any less Somali than you? That's actually xaasidnimo considering quitemail a lot of these children speak better somali than westernised Faraxs and Xalimo who may be full somali and can get citizenship. Yes, they wouldn't fit with the qabil system but is that their fault since many of the kids were born post 1991 and the war was caused by qablaayad

So you're a fan of blockchain tech but not blockchain currencies? :kanyehmm:

What makes them less somali is that they are NOT somali. Its not the language that makes one somali its the lineage, otherwise even cadaan speaking somali can claim somali.

I like the tech and what I could be used for.

If it's to make yield, I would rather focus on the equities. I don't see myself adding it to my Caato Asset Group.
:mjcry:

Transforming the world's financial institutions is one of its uses, but hey, to each his own I guess :manny:

I'm trying to say that, with your logic and plan. People like Maya Jama and Chef Roble are able to get citizenship but if I was to be happily married to a Indian or a black or an cadaan guy, my children wouldn't be somali even if I instilled the deen and somali culture to the point they see themselves as members of the Somali community. Isn't that unfair to you?

50% of my kids would be somali and the same with Maya as she is HALF for example. We live in a time where dads run from responsibility rather than raising their kids but I'm not saying all dad's like that but there is an increasing proportion now so they may not even bother teaching their kids their abtiris and qabil hI story so how would that work

If your father isn't Somali, then you're not Somali.

So if you want to teach your children Somali culture, you should teach them that in Somali culture, they are not Somali.

But the fact remains your kids will not be somali as their dad is NOT. There is nothing unfair about that.

Your kids will not be a member of any qabil which is the symbol of family unit in Somali culture.

So no matter how you try to somalinize them they will not be one.
