I just read an amazing New york Time Magazine article called 1619 project.

Fascinating walaahi.

Is Somali spot intellectual enough to discuss this Slavery Topic? We need a mature, informed scholarly people to discuss this heavy subject.

At the heart of my discussion is -- Is Slavery as a concept Haraam or Halaal?

Quran says it is Halaal. Numerous times God mention "the one you posses in your right hand"

@AussieHustler Has mentioned this many times, although he is a Kafir, so his motives are dubious.

Are we missing something as a human race???

Maybe Slavery is Halaal but under prescribed rules and regulations that it was never passed down to human race.

I mean, there is conflicting attitudes in the Quran. Like a Good deed or a penalty for some sins is to "Free a slave:

So Obviously here God wants or is pro "Free-ing Slaves" but God also acknowledges, A man can wife his slave?

So what gives?

Maybe going back to my question again?

Are we missing the Rules and Regulations of possessing a Slave?

That the "Concept" of Slavery is permissible but very complicated?

Like Men can marry 4 wives, but its complicated, you need to provide for them equally? Maybe apply same concept to Slavery too?

But that speaks to the nature of a Human. They are violent. They are unjust. They are selfish. They are animals, which means pray on the weak.

But is Slavery as an institution... Halaal????? Or Necessary?

Taking advantage of the weak logically isn't wrong. Morally, you will be seen as bankrupt.

Enslaving people and looking down on them creates hatred that cannot be washed away... . Because of those injustices. When they die, they will be spirtiual instability. Like 9/11. Or the land of America or any other that has been stolen.

Like you were going to take me seriously anyways Eedo. What are your thoughts on my comment :comeon:. I saw you change the laughing to informative. :camby:

FYI: when it comes to defending my country and clan, i won't hesitate to assert my landheernimo and drag my naaso on the ground. I highly suggest every halimo does this once a month. Very therapeutic. :denzelnigga:

@Abdalla thank you for this grammatically incorrect statement. You have saved many lives and naasos

No slavery in any context is wrong. No methods or rules. It is wrong and unsustainable to own people.

But what if your religion tells you Slavery is permissible? The Wisdom behind Allaah swt knows of course

You can't beat or mistreat your slaves. I'm not a fan but it doesn't seem that much worse than being a prisoner tbh. In the prophet's time most slaves they got were prisoners of war and would be freed after converting from what I know. (I could be wildly wrong).

Also Post Islam win by our prophet pbuh, most slaves owned by the pagans were automatically free.

There was a slave wife who divorced her crying slave husband after learning she can be free to do that,

You can enslave the POWs of the aggressing belligerent in a war as long as they refuse to accept islam.

As for the question of Morality and Man’s ultimate ambition, It is for joy. The Man is a creature that seeks to achieve satisfaction just like any other animal, he will do anything. This means that slavery can be seen as immoral in today’s society, but this is because we are already or will experience satisfaction much easier and quicker than our descendants.

For our forefathers, satisfaction was met after vigour , experience, and the abandonment of emotion and pity for the subject it presided over. A slave, was seen as nothing but a subject that had to be used to achieve satisfaction. We don’t understand today because we don’t need such ‘immoral’ and ‘evil’ acts to be carried out, but in the past, this was necessary for the final achievement of man (Aristot
