There were Hararis in the Somali Youth League, the founding party of Somalia, and Harar itself was openly being considered as a capital for Somalia with their approval. Interesting indeed. It seems they have since became way much proud Ethiopians. They even switched their writing script to Ge'ez from Arabic since their language is part of the Ethiopian Semitic languages family. But they still have "islamic" traditions and cultures they share with Somalis.

They switched to Ge'ez voluntarily few years ago. No one forced them. In Ethiopia there are still states like Oromia, Sidama, Somali that didn't use Ge'ez. No one forces you to write your own language with Ge'ez script. They did it voluntarily.

During the 50s they wanted to unite their region with Somalia to escape the severe persecution of Haile Selassie (May God’s curse and punishment be upon this filthy scum). Upon hearing this, it was said that Haile Selassie made efforts to forcefully displace them, leading to the small numbers they got today. Harari’s have a rich culture and traditions, hopefully they regrow their population demographic and have a powerful place in the horn.

The German got the complete name of Emir Nur down saying he is;

Nur Ali Abdullahi of ad-Dhuha Suha/Marehan

Marehan have his abtirsi down as

Nur Ali Abdullahi Nur Yusuf Mataan Ciis Ahmed Mohamed Da'ud Abadir of reer Hodanbari/Mareexaan.

Notice his family surname is listed as ad-Dhuha Suha family in the German piece and in Marehan geneology he is part of reer Hodanbari

Dhuha = morning
Suha: beautiful/amazing

Hodan: wealthy/amazing (dhulkaan waa hodan)
Bari ; daybreak/early morning (nabad ku bari)

The family name is basically "waking up to a beautiful, vibrant morning" or "morning light"

There's other sources independent of this that are from the 1970s that state he is Marehan. Marehan inherited the Adal Sultanate after the Imam's death. Emir Nur's descendants, the Ina Nur guarded his tomb in Harar to this day.
