From salahudiin to the ottomans, Sufis played one of the biggest roles in spreading and Fighting for Islam.
Forget about just sufis, Every single influential Sunni Muslim from the middle ages up until now was either a Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanafi, or Hanbali

But every single wahhabi scholar today considers the schools of thought and madhabs to be Wrong and Salafism the only way.

Salafis bark the loudest but have done nothing for Islam.
