Somali grave found in Mecca in the 900s

Apparently this grave was found in 2007 by Saudi researchers but the first English source mentioning it was Julien Loiseau’s 2019 paper Abyssinia at al-Azhar: Muslim Students from the Horn of Africa in Late Medieval Cairo, which has this neat factoid in one of it’s footnotes. This first came to my attention through the work of Saciid Shidaad.
