It's something I've wondered about before as well. If hardahmis would go to east africa and indonesia what about us somalis? More evidence of somalis spreading the deen as well. Although this book confirms my hypothesis that the reason it's hard to tell that somalis were present in a lot of these places is because we were basically lumped in with the arabs.
 
I gotta see his sources. Was this based on info fromthe ottoman archives?
