If someone has a proven Arab lineage, they are free to claim it, but don’t call yourself Somali then because that’s a contradiction. Most Somalis have a native haplogroup, I'd recommend checking out the culture and history section. The haplogroup that somalis have was kicking around in nubia and nubia was far more fascinating to me than arabia

But why are people referring to themselves as arabs when that connection was a long time ago Its not even recent (I don't even agree with this connection). And we have a large body of water separating ourselves from Arab countries. We are own people with our own identity. Maybe its just me because back home I've never seen an arab so its weird seeing people say that we are descendants from them when we have nothing in common besides religion. I have traced both sides of my Somali ancestors and we are just Somalis so this is all weird to me.
