Sir Mo Farah (born 23 March 1983)[1] is a Somali British middle and long-distance runner who holds the European record in the 5,000 metres and 10,000 metres.

Farah was born in Mogadishu, Somalia. He spent his early childhood living in Somalilandand Djibouti.[2] He moved to England when he was eight. He lives in both London and Portland, Oregon, United States.

In the 2012 Olympics he won gold in the 10,000 metres and the 5,000 metres. In the 2011 World Championships, he won gold in the 5,000 meters and silver in the 10,000 meters.[3] He won the 5,000 m and 10,000 m again at the World Championship in Moscow

better known by his stage name K'naan (/ˈkeɪnɑːn/[2]), is a Somali Canadian poet, rapper, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. He rose to prominence with the success of his single "Wavin' Flag", which was chosen as Coca-Cola's promotional anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Abdi Warsame
(Somali: Cabdi Warsame, Arabic: عبدي وارسام‎) (born 1978) is a Somali-American politician and member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After moving to London as an asylum seeker, he immigrated to Minnesota in 2006. In November 2013, he was elected to the Minneapolis City Council, becoming the first Somali official to be elected to the position.[1] Warsame was reelected for a second term in 2017.

(/ˈræɡi ˈoʊmɑː/; Somali: Raage Oomaar, Arabic: راجه اومار‬‎; born 19 July 1967) is a Somali-born British journalist and writer. He was a BBC world affairs correspondent, where he made his name reporting from Iraq.

In September 2006, he moved to a new post at Al Jazeera English, where he presented the nightly weekday documentary series Witness until January 2010. The Rageh Omaar Report, first aired February 2010, is a one-hour, monthly investigative documentary in which he reports on international current affairs stories. From January 2013, he became a special correspondent and presenter for ITV News, reporting on a broad range of news stories, as well as producing special in-depth reports from all around the UK and further afield.

A year after his appointment, Omaar was promoted to International Affairs Editor for ITV News. Since October 2015, alongside his duties as International Affairs Editor, he has been a Deputy Newscaster of ITV News at Ten. Yusuf was born in the northeastern town of Eyl in Somalia [1]. He is a Juris Doctor (Somali National University) and holds a Ph.D. in international law from the Graduate Institute of International Studies of Geneva. First ever Somali trained neurosurgeon. Earned his education and training in Italy.in 1980 he went back to Somalia and founded the department of neurosurgery and clinical neurophysiology. He was the consultant surgeon at medina hospital in Mogadishu.

Once the civil war happened he went back to Italy and become a professor of neurosurgery at the university of Rome tor verbiage and at the same time was the head of the department of Neurosurgery at Aurelia hospital in Italy.

He went back to Somalia in 2000 and founded the department of neurosurgery at mudug regional hospital in galkayo, the city of his birth. He worked there until he died
