Honestly this is complete culture eradication we're not arabs this Arab attire
There's no issue taking this and redesigning it into cultural clothing for men. I mean we really haven't got much we can claim so I say take what we have and build on it. Like how there are Moroccan thobes, we could design a somali style.

We need to evolve our traditional clothes. Xalimos established their own outfits that they are proud to rock. Majority of Somali niggas wouldn't even wear our old shit. It doesn't look that good.

This Thobe cover is Omani Arab. Somalis adopted it from Omani Arabs through trade.

All through the Islamic world they had their own style of thobes.
The embroidery is unique to Somali only and is what makes the thobe truly somali as with other small things.

Listen @Scipio Africanus @Al Adnani and @NomadicWarlord we can have good relations with the Arab world without wiping our identity,culture and language if you guys want to change that it means you're a threat to Somalis and you must be rejected.
Somalis already have a great relation with Arab world and we never had to lose a bit of our culture or language. Why these people want to give it up and end up "afro Arabs" like Sudanese is beyond me.
But I am aware that @Al Adnani is from the gulf and lived there at least 2 generations. He's probably mixed and obviously arabised. He just wants to put that arabism onto us Somalis for whatever reason.
Tough luck. Most Somalis have embraced Arab culture with our own twist, sooner or later God's most favoured/glorious language [Arabic] will be our common tongue Insha'Allah.

The agal is foreign to us but Somalis did wear the thobe and bisht in the past. These clothes are culturally closer to us than say a western made suit is. But we shouldn’t lose or Somali identity, I agree with you on that
