Somali mothers are known for their stubborn ways. However, one day - after reproducing near to a football team. Somali mothers have some how conjured up this theory that they are in line with the Lord. Whatever they say will atomatically be cleared by God.

Like their damn curses! Or if a person does something which Somali mother may not agree with, due to their old fashioned views of life - would lead to a punishment by God.

Or sometimes they can predict something will happen even if it over rides God.

Why are Somali mums like this?
Why?

I'll go with superstition. They are superstitious and do not have the same understanding of Islam as we do here in the west. Somali mothers view Islam from the Sufi stand point where as we here the generation raised in the west view Islam from the Sunni stand point.

Old country mentality vs modern day mentality.

Somali fathers are the same. They think their opinions are the end and be all of everything. They have no flexibility and nuance way of approaching things.

It comes down to the fact that they've taken the "jannah lies under the feet of your mother" absolute literally.

A woman in Islam and women in general reflect more divine attributes within them than men, such as mercy (the womb is called the Rahim),
patience, etc.. What I'm trying to say is they have a stronger connection to the Rabb, especially when they are devout worshipers.

You don't want to gamble whether if her curses will or will not manifest, just don't get to that level bruv, respect your mother.

Alhamdulillah my mom doesn't agree with making inkaar against my siblings and I when we piss her off. But yeah, there are lots of Somali parents who get mad at their children and curse them and later wonder why their children behave that way. Why curse when you can make dua for your kids?

There is different to your spiritual connection with the Rabb and using the status of motherhood to over power and rule.

Although you should never be walid caasi! I heard dads inkaar is much more serious than mums...so don't make daddy upset

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “ Paradise lies under your mothers feet”
