Have you ever received some sort of privilege because of the Somali component when around Somalis?
I've noticed being Somali comes in handy when you surround yourself with Somalis.
Somali privilege might actually correspond with how white privilege is described.

How do you achieve Somali privilege? Well first, you have to enjoy the companionships of other Somalis.
If you segregate yourself from an inner circle composed of Somalis, you perhaps never experienced this privilege.

Hook ups: I've been in many Taxi cabs where I had paid 50% of the tap. I've once taken a cab, and since my destination was 5 mins away, the taxi driver insisted that I walk free. I've been rejected by Indian/Paki drivers on many times. But have been treated with respect when the drivers are of Somali decent.

Bargain: In Somalia we are used to bargaining, in America. You pay the price written on the tag.
I've been to mini Somali malls and have been given bargains while others payed whats written on the tag.

I came name many different incidents where I have noticed Somali privilege. Have you? Share some stories if you can relate.

Maybe just a few dollars off some taxi fare.

I also had Qabiil privilege.

I was not searched at an airport my habo was working at

Qabil privilege is on another level, Somali privilege can earn you a few cents off, but the Qabil component gets you laid

No because Somalis don't notice I'm Somali until I tell them and even then I still get no privileges.

I got a qabil privilege once though. I was booking a ticket to umrah and a Somali travel agent guy who was MJ cissa maxamoud gave me a discount because my cisa maxamoud cousin was with me and he assumed I was cissa maxamoud too and He gave me a really good discount. :damn::damedamn:

Alhamdulilah my cousin was with me that day.

I was in Kenya the year 2013. I came out to Islii and i ran into a Somali guy who seemed desolated. He told me he was on safar from Balad Xaawo with his wive and three kids, but they were unfortunately stuck in Nairobi because they didn't have enough money to get to Mombasa.
I looked at him and was like, "Balad xaawo?:":damedamn:I didn't even sugarcoat wallahi I asked him his qabil
The man looked at me and said, "Barada Mareexaan" I was like:jcoleno::kendrickcry::friendhug:
Instead of receiving the privilege I decided to give. I pulled out three thousand shillings and I handed him the money :denzelnigga:

Magaca ilaaahi, I caught this niggah three weeks later with the same fucking story:ohlord:
"Sxb, safar baan ahay, hadaan Xalad Xaawo ka imi. xaaska waa iga umul-" :rudywhatever::urgh:
I'm like, "Ma niggah Mombasa ayaad u socotaaa, balse shiidka ayaa la'yahay....haye?" :hahaidiot:
Niggah got 3 thousand off me and stuck with the story :mjlaugh:

Lol you're too nice. I'll be like cool story bro, have nice safar. I don't know why people give each other qabil privileges. If you ain't my fam you don't mean shxt to me.

No such thing as "Somali privilege" as this thread demonstrates. Qabil privilege is huge. But you want to know what's even greater than that? Arab privilege. I've lost count of the odeys who've offered to introduce me to their daughters because of the fact they think I'm a legit Arab who speaks Somali (mainly Darod and Isaac odeyaal). You tell a Lamagoodley you're an Arab and call him your "Arab brother" and the puppy eyes the dirty 'abeed looks back at you with is priceless. He will do anything and everything for you after that. :chrisfreshhah:

Listen, when you first visit Africa. You will begin to see children, some even Somali, speaking Somali to you...in search of a few coins.
The first 2 weeks, i nearly lost $200 alone to street kids. Its a devastating site to look at, these are young children whom are capable of great success yet isolated from humanity. But after 2 weeks, Shit got comfortable i started swerving niggahs. :sass2:

Horta Xawalaad ha sheegin, you can't even go to Dahabshiil, niggahs stationed in the front, if you come out...they know you up :westbrookswag:

Some Somalis will respect you because of the Somali component. I don't see many Somalis where I am sometimes, but when I do. I feel the privilege all around me. Soomalinimo is strong in every wadani. We respect one another regardless of clan.
Hadey luuqadaadu Soomali tahay, you will be given the privilege. Wax u dhaxeeyo malahan.

This one Eid me and the homies went to another city to bashaal. We were in high school so some of us weren't driving. Anyway we were bussing to our destinations through the day. As we were bashaaling we forgot all about the time the buses stopped working. Ilahay amarkiis we somehow found the last bus going downtown so we hoped on it. By the time we got to downtown the bus to our neighbourhood already stopped running. Knowing we had fuked up we started walking hoping we'd find a bus that would at least get us close to home but we never did.

We decided to forget about the buses and look for a taxi mind you we spent most of our money on bashaal. We started begging taxi drivers around us but none of them gave us a ride. Right as we are about to give up a homie spots a Somali taxi driver and we go up to him. We tell him were we are headed and he says get on. As he's driving us home we start talking and in the middle of the conversation we tell him bruh we short on money but we will pay you when we get to our xaafad. He's like it's cool. He was such a cool cat at the end when we told him how we found our self's in this situation he was like I understand dhalinyaro baad tihiin. When we got to the xaafad he's like don't worry about the money ciid wanaagsan.obamadatazz We were like :banderas::denzelnigga::obamaswag: If it wasn't for him that night we would've been wondering around downtown till dawn.:tocry:

I've noticed charity conciliates me, I like to give when i'm feeling down and I immediately feel relaxed.
But nowadays you can't give, even at Masjids I have questioned where the money goes. They always talk about improving the masjid, but niggah its been 3 years what happened to that 50K collected? :what1:

What a crock of shit. I know of a family who's daughter married a North African and the father was so upset he had to be hospitalized.

Halyeeyqurun wannabe , you're lucky I don't have any reps left.

The trouble is, you think you have time
I will give money it does not matter what.. I love helping others. I remember one time I just bought some food and I was on my way out and this homeless person ask me for some money. I did not have a money on me so I gave him the food I just bought.. To think about I tend to give food instead of money. Anyways just remember that you will get your rewards for giving.

That's a beautiful thing to do. I enjoy the act of giving but always aim for the reward.
