Somalis (at least most of them) are, more or less, bitter impoverished nomads who strictly follow old traditions that are kept within tribal families of larger clans.

Most of Somalia is not at all modern or urbanized, meaning that we have many who still abide by the primitive lifestyle of nomadism and, by absolute default, carry the same traditions that come with it. A gaajo geeljire who spends most of his time chasing wild animals and looking for water develops less of an empathy for those that harm have afflicted on them. They see weakness as pathetic and a nuisance that must be subdued.

Hopefully, as Somali territories urbanizes more & more, this lifestyle and line of thought could be suppressed and put away for good.

Rape is a huge issue in Somalia currently. Young boys and girls, and even older women are being raped left and right.

When people complain about it, they often times don’t go to the police or any law enforcement because they don’t want to “bring shame to the qabiil”, for both the raper and the rape victim.

It’s a toxic mentality that needs to be solved ASAP, anyone who rapes people should be beheaded.

Laakin we need to fix the government and have a strong law system
