Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 6.408 Narrated by Alqama
Abdullah (bin Masud) said that the Messenger of Allah (saws) said: "Allah curses those ladies who practice tattooing and those who get themselves tattooed, and those ladies who remove the hair from their faces (eye brows), and those who make artificial spaces between their teeth in order to look more beautiful whereby they change Allah's creation."
I don't agree with people who use cosmetic procedures to get the gap, but Allah blesses those who he wills. You're the reason this Hadith exists

Eigby observing Somali people in 1866 from his book ‘On the Origin of the Somali Race, which inhabits the North-eastern portion of Africa’. Even though it sparked my curiosity, I take accounts of agents of colonialism with a pinch of salt.
He talked about Somali teeth on three occasions, which made me wonder about the British dental hygiene at the time. But it also made me wonder what it meant within the European white supremacist context of the so called ‘civilized European’ versus the ‘savage African’.
