Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) Somalia’s weekly cabinet meeting will take place in Kismayo port town, Somali PM said.

Speaking to reporters in Mogadishu, Somalia’s Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre said that the cabinet meeting will take place in Kismayo port town of Jubaland state in Somalia.

The aim is to strengthen the relationship between Somali Federal Government and Federal Member States, according to PM.

The meeting will be held in Kismayo on Thursday, all the ministers are expected to attend.

Similarly, the next meetings of Somali cabinet is expected to be held in the capital towns of Federal Member States, Khayre added.

This is bad and just another way to leech more money for travel expenses, this would mean everyone hops on a plane every Thursday from Xamar, someone should do some background checks on the charter flight that will take these MP's there and who stands to profit from this.

What is worse then all of this is the precedent that this sets, next SWS/Hiirshabelle/Puntland/Galmudug will queue up for their share and the whole thing will quickly dissolve into abject lunacy, as usual when money is to be made, rational goes out of the window.

This looks to me like some shady deal that was made with Kenya since they pretty much run Madoobe, just as I heard the government was able to fight off the motion against the PM (orchestrated from Kenya) now this happens, shady as hell.

Let us be positive for moment and look at bigger picture, the federal states wouldn't be isolated from central government. And stop the joke of central government only rules Mogadishu only. These states need to remember the real authority. Plus we need to stop calling the governors of states "presidents". It is just symbolic move.
