Somalia had less than 500 deaths due to Al Shabaab last year

I know this is a bit late but it’s very meaningful progress.

Deaths from AS attacks in Banaadir region declined by 76% over the past year and yet people say they haven’t been weakened or the offensive was fake

:dead::deadrose:
The phase 1 offensive was a prank and it failed but that doesn't mean counter-terrorism in Mogadishu isn't working.

Explain why Middle Shabelle, a region that rarely suffered from AS attacks in the first place, also saw a decline of 89%? Today a Government car can safely travel from Muqdisho to Adan Yabaal which was impossible this time 2 years ago.

That's because that's Abgaal territory, the clan of the president in Mogadishu, that switched sides from Shabaab to FGS due to clan allegiance. Attacks didn't occur there much because Shabaab governed it in the first place.
