Somalia Journalist Killed by Al-Shabaab Car-Bomb in Capital

A Somali journalist working for the country’s state-run broadcaster was killed in a car-bombing claimed by Islamist militant group al-Shabaab.


Hindiya Hajji Mohamud was driving in the south of the capital, Mogadishu, on Thursday when a bomb hidden in her vehicle detonated, police officer Mohamed Hassan said by phone.

Mohamud died of blood loss after being rushed to the hospital, Abdirahim Isse Addow, director at the state broadcaster, said by phone.

Al-Shabaab said it carried out the attack in a statement read on Radio Andalus, which supports the insurgents. While African Union forces and the Somali army have dislodged the militants from large tracts of territory, the al-Qaeda-linked group has proven capable of repeatedly striking the heart of the capital city.

All journalists got a big bulls eye on their back especially ones who are working in that absolute mad house of a country called Somalia, imagine paramedics trying to speed race to her in what ever place she was roads are messed up slowing them down, they are under trained and maybe they won't even help her since they haven't had their daily dose of khat or weren't paid, so many scenarios who knows what went really down but what ever it was she bleed to death.
